A flower

The deeply upsetting experience of the film was eased with a chill in the white garden... Heaven in a wild flower... http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/wblake.htm

The incredible truth

A stunning indictment of modern capitalism was witnessed today in downtown Bronxville Who would have thought that Tipper Gore's husband would lead the race to save the planet... Al Gore explains ..in a somewhat self serving manner ..why we need to change ..and a bit about how we can change....simple .even simplistic in parts...the jumping frog for example..he manages to engage one and stimulate debate about this crucial topic.... He can certainly cause controversy.. www.gargaro.com/algore.html www.nytimes.com/2006/05/22/movies/22gore.html www.algoresupportcenter.com

old times good times

Punk was supposed to kill such bands as Zep..but when you view footage as below..one realises that good old rock will never die..thankfully I saw this band in thier prime in 75..rock on

And a band that did

Another great band, but one that have achieved glory..the 2 gigs I have seen encourage deep devotion from the crowd...sub-Joy Division..but whats wrong with that..

A band that should have...

Lonview never atchieved the potential that I thought they could ..but heres a reminder of how good they could be

Ruminating

The ceaseless rain has enabled me to sit back and remember some of the great gigs of 06.. The best gig of the year ...so far..and it will take a lot of beating.. was the David Gilmour extravaganza at the magnificent Bridgewater Hall.. Sound, lights, atmosphere all perfect.. You can check the results on Dimeadozen..a superb recording of the event..in the meantime here's a spot of DG at the Albert Hall a few days later

Past and present

It was 20 years ago today that we were fortunate enough to see this awesome Amnesty Int. gig at Giants Stadium... After Peter..whose band we are seeing in a few weeks ...U2 ,Joni,Miles Davies and the last ever ..thankfully..Police gig..all entertained us. Memories are made of this...

the skies open

Well the US doesnt do things by half.. after the empty blue skies..the rain gushed down as the skies blackened..we even had a power faiure..so time to kick back and catch some quality movies.. "Good night ,good luck "was a damning endictment of Macartherism and shows with chillin clarity what can happen when we allow dangerous power crazed politicians any scope at all..now why does it feel so relevant and picquant..superb cinematography, acting, script and direction..well done George.. "Transamerica "was again very well acted, the script a bit leaden and clumsy/contrived but worth seeing..lets hope she doesnt want to change back in the sequel..it can get messy....

After a morning sunbathing and relaxing into the big city I ventured...I spent the afternoon in my fav spot on the east side...when I emerged the sky tuned black ..suddenly thunder and lightening hit the skies...crashing and showing the buildings in bas relief..I chilled in the Marriott then a great deli serving everything a hungry man required..rested I ventured into the tippelling rain..very dramatic.. Wonder what the Quintin Tarrentino ..Hendrix movie will be like...
